Seasonal lists, honest labels.

Our lists breathe with the seasons and with what neighbouring farms can deliver reliably. Nothing here is a promise of stock on a given day—use this page as a map of how we think about categories, storage, and substitutions.

When you visit, read the shelf card first: it carries temperature, allergen shorthand, packaging notes, and sometimes a second-choice suggestion if the primary item runs low. Staff are trained to open supplier sheets when you need more detail.

Catalogue overview

Soaked and sprouted grains

Barley, oats, rye, and spelt arrive whole whenever possible. Overnight soaking softens texture and can shorten morning cooking. Shelf cards list water ratios and whether a pressure cooker or stovetop is kinder to the batch.

Legumes for slow cookers

Lentils, chickpeas, and split peas ship in paper sacks where suppliers allow. We note foam behaviour and salt timing so you avoid mushy results—especially helpful if you batch cook for the week.

Leafy greens and herbs

Local greens lead the cooler when the season allows. Herbs leave in breathable wraps; we print same-day hydration tips because wilted leaves rarely recover once crushed.

Stone fruit and berries

We label country of origin and harvest date when available. Sweetness shifts weekly—ask for a taste when samples are open, or request a firmer pick if you are travelling before eating.

Ferments and cultured foods

Small-batch krauts, yogurts, and plant-based ferments rotate in limited runs. Live cultures need cold chain; we mark “enjoy-by” windows and whether jars tolerate freezing for smoothies.

Pantry oils, seeds, and nuts

We favour opaque bottles for oils sensitive to light and whole nuts you can toast at home. Origin notes mention harvest year for olive oil when suppliers provide it.

How we build the rotation

Each quarter we review what sold steadily, what spoiled faster than expected, and what customers asked for repeatedly. We trim SKUs that duplicate flavour profiles and add pilots that align with our minimal-additives and regional-first posture. Suppliers receive a short questionnaire about processing changes so shelf cards stay accurate.

Pickup windows near Dufferin let you combine shopping with transit or walking routes that already fit your week. If you need an ingredient omitted from a bundle for household reasons, mention it in your message or at the counter—we confirm feasibility before you pay.

Ask before you make a special trip

Send the product name, preferred date, and any dietary flags. We will confirm availability or suggest a close substitute.
